As the snow melts away.. and the seasonal depression comes to an end, adding a pop of color to your home decor can help brighten up your mood and enhance your home in a major welcoming way. Adding color to your home can easily become intimidating, I’m here to tell you … Don’t be afraid. Whether its a blush soft pink, a daring bold red, or a bright and sunny yellow. You can’t go wrong with adding a pop of color to your home for a fresh new look, Here’s how I do Color pop in my homes.
Don’t be Afraid to do something different…
While colors like orange, and yellow can be a bit intimidating if that’s the color that calls you… In the words of Pocahontas – Paint with all the colors of the wind! haha. Doing fun bright colors can not only brighten up your space but also brighten up your mood, I use navy blue and yellow in my dining room with just a few centerpieces as a statement piece in a bright yellow color on top of a navy blue table runner, This room transformed into a bright and cheerful space just with a few small changes. Having a m0rning cup of joe here , starts my day off on a great note.
Try Dark Walls for a Romantic Feel…
If your going for a romantic feel in your house, try painting your walls a darker shade, and popping with brighter colors. For my bedroom, I used a darker grey color and popped it with this emerald green and gold color throughout. This made my space super romantic. If you can get a chandelier or lighting with a dimmer, This adds to the look.
Think Pink….
Adding a blush tone to your home in the springtime can reach out and hug your inner girly. You can do this by adding a few pink flower arrangements or a few pink pillows or throw on your nude colored couch. Seasonal decor/ Holidays like Easter add for some time to have fun with colors you haven’t used before and with just a few statement pieces you can transform your home in a BIG Beautiful, Vibrant way.
Not sure what color to use in your Home?
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of colors to choose from for your home, I guess my advice on this would be go with what feels like home to you. Whether that be a bright bold orange, a soft sage green or a bold red. Do what makes you feel comfortable, If your worried about doing too much start small and simple maybe replace your all white roses/ flowers to a bold red or hot pink color, Maybe change your nude throw blanket that’s been at the end of your couch for a bright yellow one. See how it makes you feel and go with it. Keeping in mind the words from one of our most beloved movies, Wizard of OZ…” There’s no place like home”.
